This past week has been crazy, but very memorable. A dear lady passed away and she had a memorial last week. Lucianna Hawkins was the sweestest and funniest person you could ever know. She passed away at the age of 96. She was born in 1913. I used to stay with “Grandma Lucy” and keep her company in high school and college. I have so many fun memories with her. One of my favorite things we used to do together was get an ice cream cone at Andy’s and drive around Springfield. She would point out different locations and tell me what they used to be years ago. I loved it! She was so full of joy and loved Jesus.
Christmas has come and gone. I have to say, this Christmas was one of my favorites. Enjoying the holidays with a new baby is wonderful. Hazel loved the Christmas tree. Every morning when she got up, we would turn the lights on. She knew not to touch it, so she would just stare at it in amazement. Each Christmas eve, we stay at my parent’s house and open up presents Christmas morning, then we make a big breakfast. Here is my parent’s tree on Christmas morning:
I thought is would be fun to share some of my favorite gifts from people. Most of them are handmade or upcylced things.
This sweet little block was from Natosha.

My mom gave me some things from Anthropolgie, and this felt garland was part of the packaging. I hung it on a mirror…
Trish painted these fawns and gave them to me. I love them.
Hanna, my brother’s girlfriend, gave these cute mittens to Hazel.
And I think the best gift this Christmas is when my brother proposed to his girlfriend, Kaitlin. She is from Pennsylvania, so we don’t see her a lot….but we love her to pieces. Here she is with Hazel. I got to spend the whole day with her yesterday. Hazel loves her too.

Her ring is 100 years old. It is the most beautiful vintage ring! I seriously cannot wait until their wedding…and to finally have a sister!!!
