And she’s off

March 9, 2010

Hazel is FINALLY starting to walk. We have been working with her for awhile. She took her first steps yesterday. Here she is checking out some toys.

Sparkling Ceilings

March 7, 2010

My husband and I took Hazel to see her great grandma Bina this weekend.  It is always an adventure packing up the baby and driving for hours.

We were pretty tired, but had a good time. Hazel loved her great grandma!

Bina’s house was really cute. She had a pink oven that was so pretty.  She also had sparkles on her ceiling.

How cool is that? I think I was born in the wrong era. I would love sparkly ceilings! Here is a pictures of the darling stove and her cute cookie jar from the 50’s.

My husband’s mother passed away when he was just a boy, so it was really special for Hazel to meet her mother.

We took lots of pictures! Bina lives in a little town in northern Missouri. On Saturday we went out to all of the antique shops and thrift stores. We found lots of treasures.

Glad to be home and start a new week. Here is a project I was working on last week.

I purchased this sofa at a local thrift store and gave it a little makeover.

I am loving velvet lately. Here is the finished product:

I LOVE surprises. Especially when it involves turning the old into new.

I am thinking about doing some before and afters on here more often.

Spring Fever

March 4, 2010

I seriously cannot wait until spring!!!  Here are some cute things in honor of spring.

My friend Sarah sent me a link to this shop. Aren’t these bags adorable?

I think this is the most beautiful diaper bag. I don’t use one(I just put everything in my own purse).

But this one by Petunia Pickle Bottom might be too cute to pass up:

I am REALLY looking forward to walks & picnics in the park.

I still use Hazel’s sling all the time. They are the best. SO much better than clunky strollers!

Here is a lovely one from Serena & Lily:

But, if I do decide to use a stroller….I wouldn’t mind this one:

and this one by Paul Frank for Bugaboo

Here is a darling cardigan for those chilly days at the park. From J. Crew

Ok, that’s all for now! Will be back soon to blog a fun before & after.

A quick hello

March 3, 2010

How beautiful is this photo? I found this from Katie Did blog.

Please go there if you have not seen here blog. It’s so sweet.

I have been really busy working on a project. I am finally finished, and will be blogging again very soon!

Elsa is itsy bitsy.  She was 4 days old when we took these pictures. My little Hazel was a whole 2 lbs bigger (she was a chunk) than Elsa when she was born.

I really cant remember holding a baby this small. I loved holding her.

Elsa’s big sister  Emilia helped out a lot too. Thanks Emilia! Hope you guys like the pictures!

Meet Finn: The cutest little guy.

As soon as his mom opened up the door, I knew I would love him. He has the most beautiful blue eyes, which made it a piece of cake to photograph him.

My goodness. I wanted to take him home.

Pretty things….

Isn’t this little bulb amazing? What a great idea. I love the look of terrariums….make it miniature, and it’s even better!

There is a tutorial on Apartment Therapy’s Unplggd. Check out the bottom of the picture for the link.

I love these chairs too. I’ve always been a sucker for Orla Kiely fabric, and a danish inspired chair…..mmmmm.

Chris Benz’s Spring collection is amazing. I love the sparkles and ruffles.

Check out a lovely set of photos from Sarah Roads here.  They are seriously the cutest couple.

This week has been so busy.  I will be back to post pictures  a little cutie named Finn.

A day through my Iphone

February 12, 2010

I had the best day today.

First, my husband was off work. We packed up little Hazel and went to some antique shops.

Hazel really likes playing with clothes. Hmmm….I don’t know why.

Found this little guy…

Out and about

Dropped Hazel off at my parents so we could go to a movie.

Picked Hazel up after the worst movie… EVER.

She loves Izzy.

Picture of a picture I like.

Hazel’s first Valentine came in the mail.

Picking out fabrics for a fun project.

Spent some time with friends. Snapped a picture of Chloe’s room. Isn’t it cute?

Made some new inspiration clip boards. I got this idea from Rachel, and I loooove it.

There is a little peak into my day. I am really excited about lovey day (aka Valentine’s).

I always get sentimental this time of year.

Narwhals & a tooth brush

February 11, 2010

Today I realized that narwhal’s are actually a real thing. I always thought they were a mythic creature, like a unicorn.

I called my husband at work and asked if he knew narwhals were real. He replied with a very slow “ya”. I could tell he was slightly embarrassed for me.

I know, I should knows this. The movie Elf threw me off, I guess.

Aren’t they beautiful? I feel like a kid who just saw snow for the first time.

Anyway, it’s the small things…

In other news.  I went to the dentist yesterday and Hazel was given an itsy bitsy tooth brush.

She has been “brushing her teeth” constantly. I think it is the perfect remedy for her back teeth coming in.

Here she is examining her new tooth brush. So proud.

Hazel’s Room

February 10, 2010

Today, Maddie put up a little tour of Hazel’s room on her blog. Maddie lives in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Her blog is Li’l Magoolie. Add her to your google reader! She always posts she cutest baby things! Thanks Maddie!
